When a patient is placed on ECMO during the global period of Cardiac surgery, the placement and the removal of the cannula(s) are denying as being bundled into the OHS. If a -78 modifier if attached, it denies for inappropriate modifier. Is anyone else having this issue? Was this discussed at the STS Coding Workshop? Please advise.
