Question regarding coding for Arthroscopy of hip with thermal shrinkage of labrum. What code would you use? 29999 is considered investigational and not payable. If 29862 were to be utilized, would this we appropriate?

Not really. ETS is really a shrinkage, not a repair of the labrum. We say it equates to a capsulorraphy. ETS is the unspecified code and really is considered experimental and not covered by most insurances. Sure hope your doc did something else that he can get paid for....check your documentation. Thanks!
