:confused:EGD: Procedure with banding. Banding a tumor then snaring it.
43251, the ultimate removal is through snare only. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach, and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; with removal of tumor(s), polyp(s), or other lesion(s) by snare technique. No Other cpt code to use. Our physician is saying the following.

He states procedures need to be billed using the unlisted procedure code. The codes we list do not accurately represent what was done.
For the first procedure: banding a tumor then snaring it. The primary method of removal is NOT by snare. The only way these tumors can be removed is by using a special technique called multi-band mucosectomy which involves the use of bands and snares. He states we should use unlisted codes. 43499 and 43999?
