If the doctor does an ercp with a stent removal but on the way down decides to do biopsies in the stomach can we bill both the egd and ercp?

Usually from what I've seen in reports by my doctors they use the EGD scope to visualize down to the duodenum and then remove the EGD scope and insert the ERCP scope.
If that's what your doctor did, then yes, you can bill the 43239 in addition to any of the ERCP codes.
