Conducts training programs for medical providers and personnel on medical coding and documentation related topics, including ICD-9 diagnosis coding, CPT-4 produre coding, medical terminology, Billing Compliance, and third party carrier reimbursement policy issues. Writes training programs, including text, ahndouts, and tests, and designs classroom exercises. Dtermines training objectives and is responsible for initial plan and design of class material, as well as enhancing existing courses. Update training at a minimum of once a year to account for industry changes. Publish coding and billing newsletter as issues and trends are identified. Has indepth knowledge of commonly used concepts, pratices, and procedures within medical coding and billing. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervisor; repotrs to manager. A cretain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
