CAn you bill this code if the nurse does a ear washing. I say no to me it says under direct visualization the physicain removes the impacted cerumen with suction cerumen spoon or forceps. Our nurses argue at our facility that is the only way to remove the impaction, but at my daughter's peds appointment her doctor removed the cerumen and did not have the nurse do it and he removed it with forceps so I clearly see how he was able to bill a office visit and this procedure.
