Pt seen on 12/13/22 shoulder pain - received joint injection. Note indicates plan of see how she is doing and will see back 1/3/23. If still struggling, consider intraarticular injection. 1/3/23 Pt received injection, provider billed EM too as it was a recap of previous inj and discussion. Decided on intraarticular inj. Is an EM billable on 1/3/23? Any supportive links and documentation would be appreciated so we can supply to the physician.

I normally would not bill for one. They discussed the patient coming back for a second injection and when she came back he dictated that she was requesting another injection. He did not treat for anything else, did not do any testing or orders, and stated to follow up as needed.
