We have an in-office infusion center. In some cases we may have a patient who is scheduled for an office visit and infusion on the same day., however, scheduled with different providers. We bill all of our infusions under our supervising provider who is in office to supervise that day, but the patient may have an office visit follow up with NP. If the E/M visit supports the guidelines, can we bill the E/M code with the 25 modifier on a separate claim using the NP's name, and then bill the administration and infusion (J code) on a separate claim with the provider supervising that day? This may have same diagnosis. Example: 99214-25 - DX RA - NP (1 claim) then 96413 with J code - DX RA - provider?
