E/M Coding Supervisor (Remote)
• Reports to: Coding Manager• Employment Status: Full Time, Salary
Position Summary
E/M Supervisor is responsible for coding and supervising other coders in multiple specialties: NICU, pediatrics (well office visits, etc), neurology (including injections, infusions, EMG, EEG, etc), orthopedic (including injections, and other in-office procedures).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with coders and coding manager to ensure accurate and timely completion of E/M charts for multiple clients.
- Use Aviacode tools and platform to manage and QA coded charts.
- Exercise judgment in determining workload for medical coders.
- Ensure rules, guidelines, and client expectations are met.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required
- Some college is preferred
- 5+ years' experience in E/M coding
- 2+ years' supervising experience
- Pass Aviacode EM test
- Knowledge and understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) systems
- Aptitude for effectively handling stressful situations, prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and motivating others
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and persistent; very organized and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
