I have two questions that I am looking for feedback on.

1) When a provider is requested by lawyer to provider a letter of medical opinion on patient and it is not a in person deposition how do you charge?

2) When a POA or ROI is on file for a patients family members to discuss healthcare with provider and they have a visit with provider without patient present, how or can you charge?

Thank You!

On question #1 you usually invoice the Attorney for these services not the patients insurance. but Iwould code with a 99080
#2 I would use a 99358 as long as time is documented at a minimum of 30 minutes. Use the dx code for other person seeking consultation on behalf of the patient.
