Since the notes do not state affecting fetus, is the code 790.29 & V22.2?

Need more info pls! Are you stating that they are just "high" or does the pt have gestational diabetes?

The coder cannot determine that the pregnancy is incidental, the guidelines stipulate that it is the providers responsibility to state that the current condition being treated is not affect ing the pregnancy in order to code the V22.2
with the provider making this statement you code a chapter 11 code first, if it is just a high blood sugar with out a dx of gestational diabetes then use 648.93 and code the elevate glucose secondary.
