Wiki DX for global visit while inpatient?

Does anyone have any documentation stating that V67.09 cannot be used on a postop visit while a patient is still inpatient? We were told by an auditor to instead use the dx codes from the surgery, but how can you code appendicitis if they had their appendix removed??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
