I code for several neonatologists. One doctor has billed a 99464 with a dx of vaginal delivery after previous c-section (vbac). I cannot seem to find any ICD9 dx that will fit the bill. The delivery was normal and the baby was healthy. Can I use either 760.64 or 761.8 or is a 99464 not billable in this situation? Thanks for your help.

The V30.x series cannot be used for 99464 (attendance at delivery). For instance if the baby is born by c-section you use 763.4, you cannot use V30.01. I'm looking for a dx that will show the medical necessity of attending a vaginal birth where the mom had a previous c-section and the baby was born healthy. Is there such a dx?
