Pt had history of knee pain referred for MRI. Radiologist referred to hematology due to abnormal marrow signal in the femur and tibia. Hematologist noted "Reconversion of red marrow in the distal left femur and proximal tibia. This is a nonspecific finding. Yes, it can be seen in patients with bone marrow problems such as anemia and malignancy, but I do not think they are present." Wait and watch approach.
I need a 2nd opinion. What diagnosis would you use? I'm leaning toward 289.9 (unsp dis of blood and blood forming organs), 793.7 (Nonspecific abn result radiological of musculoskeletal system) and 719.46 (pain lower leg).
