What code is everyone using for Hypergastrinemia? In the index, I don't find hypergastrinemia or elevated gastrin. If I go with "excess gastrin", I'm led to 251.5, which is the same code used for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. I queried my provider and discussed 251.5 and 790.99. She said to go with 790.99, as the patient does not carry a dx of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards the 251.5. I found one forum post that stated to use 251.5. Thoughts?
 
I would bill it as 251.5. There is more than one definition for this code. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is not the only one. I think you are correct.
