Hi,

I need some help. At my work we are working with APR-DRG mostly and some MS-DRG reviews. My boss wanted to know if there is a program out there that suggests what DRG codes can be assigned based on diagnosis codes? Also if the program could assign SOI (severity of illness). I didn't have a clue. Please help thanks Karin

You should be using an encoder to help you with your diagnosis coding and DRG assignment. This kind of software "called a grouper" does the guesswork for you, as long as you assign your codes according to the coding rules. We use an encoder by 3M.
