Extracted from the provider's notes from an office visit: Am puzzled by this, and have been trying to pull up answers from research. Can anyone help? R foot pain Patient had been seen by another physician, who thought that a nerve was inflamed around the bunion area side of big toe. This has been getting worse, and patient would like for it to be injected with a steroid. Ultimately, the Assessment is that pt. has a neuroma on nerve to large toe which is infected. Procedure note: Neuroma injection. The potention risks (infection, weakening or rupture of tendon/muscle atrophy of soft tissue) and benefits (reduction in pain) of the procedure were discussed w/pt. The patient consented and requested that I perform the procedure, so using alcohol prep, a mixture of 1 cc 0.5% marcaine, 1 cc 2% lidocaine and 40 mg Kenalog was injected into the area of maximum swelling and tenderness indentified above, using a 27 gauge needle and with some fanning of the injection, with no difficult...etc.

Perhaps a code from the 644XX series might apply to this, or should we settle in the 2055x area? I'm not seeing a 11900, so can someone experienced in this arena enlighten us?
