Wiki DOS for professional coding radiology service

For the last 4 years, I have been coding the professional radiology services. My last audit came back as 99%. Today I got my most recent audit results and was hit with an 82%. Of the 20 reports audited, 6 were marked that I had selected the wrong DOS. What is the proper DOS to select when coding professional radiology services? The date of the procedure or the date the report is signed?

According to the ACR..

"The ACR and other groups believe that DOS-PC (professional component) of imaging services should continue to be the date of an imaging exam?s technical component. This is the date when actual imaging was performed. They recommend that CMS publish national guidance to reflect this position to help eliminate any conflicting policies placed at the local level by Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs)"
