Wiki Do all 90 global procedures start a new 90-day global period when already in a global for a previous procedure?

Hello, please help with a scenario as I may not be interpreting some of the global rules for modifier 78 correctly. A patient is in and out of the hospital for a problematic, non-healing abdominal wound. She starts with CPT 15734 (90 day) on September 10. Throughout her course she goes back to the OR with modifier 78 and several 0-day global procedures (for the same problem) but then goes back to OR on 10/25 for CPT 35840 (90 day) and modifier 78. Does the procedure on 10/25 start a new global period? TIA

A new postoperative period does not begin when using modifier 78.
Modifier 58 starts a new global.
