Wiki discharge day

Hopefully someone can help with this question. Patient has dual chamber pacemaker inserted by a Cardiologist. On discharge day, a physician (cardiologist) covering from another group comes in to discharge patient. Can that physician bill for that? In a surgical practice with 90 globals, when another physician discharges, they do not bill because they are not doing the post operative follow up.

The provider discharging is covering for the primary providers pt correct? If this is the case then no if the pt is in post op. They are taking the place of the provider not there. Hope that helps.
