We are having a debate over this one. Can the "digit splint" be coded?

Treatment today consisted of removing the dressings, inspecting the surgical area, and redressing with a dry sterile dressing. The patient was told
the importance of following all previous post-operative orders and is to call the office if problems or concerns arise before next scheduled
appointment. All questions by the patienl~o~~ere ans~o~~ered and the patient left in satisfactory condtion. The patient will return to the office as
instructed for follow up visit, possible suture removal and post-operative xrays., once the K wire pin was removed from the patient's second digit, the
distal tip of the toe was treated with Mansel's solution as a hemostatic agent. Steri-Strips ~o~~ere placed at the distal aspect of the digit in the digit was splinted using Colby and an 4 x 4's. The patient was placed in her Darco v.edge shoe, general transition into her pneumatic walking boot over the next few days. Post operative xrays ~o~~e re taken to evaluate the healing process of the operative area. Treatment today consisted of instructing the patient to continue all orders that~o~~ere discussed at the last visit. The patient had all their questions and concerns ans....ered and conveyed to the patient the importance of following our instructions concerning but not limited to ambulation, shoe gear, bathing, activity, etc. The patient will return to the office as directed or call or return if questions or concerns develop before the next appointment.

Can you code for a "Post-Op Splint"?

Also regarding to the message above, The pt is s/p bunionectomy, the doctor removed the k-wire and the digit was splinted using coban and 4X4's. Is this billable? We did purchase the 2014 Podiatry Manual by Michael Warshaw. In the book it does state, following the 90 day global period you may bill for any splint or casting supplies used post-op by using the Q codes as appropriate. Does her dictation warrant this?
