If an esophageal biopsy was taken for pathology review and diagnosed with "gastric mucosa with active inflammation" or "inflammatory gastric mucosa," what would be more appropriate to code:

535.50 Unspecified gastritis and gastroduodenitis

My initial thought it to code the unspecified inflammation to the site of biopsy, esophagus, but since it states gastric mucosa, that leads me to believe I should code to gastric.

I use 530.19 Other Esophagitis because if you look up Gastroesophagitis, that's the code it leads you to.
