For the new breast US code (76642), if both breasts are scanned but the symptoms were only on one side, how do we assign the dx if there are no findings? For example, if the patient presents with breast pain on the right side, would we code 611.71 for both left and right breasts?

Yes. I would be coding 611.71 for both breasts as it is the medical necessity for the service provided.
