Wiki Developmental Screening

Highmark made us aware today that the doctors should be doing a developmental screening by the age of 3. I have been billing 96110 when patient's are given the 18 month MCHAT (autism questionairre) which Highmark said is not the correct form to use. Does anybody have any input on what exactly it is that they are referring to as the developmental screening and how do you implement it into your EMR template?

I can't help with EMR implementation. We typically are doing both the mchat and the ages & stages at 18 months. We bill for 2 units of 96110 and are normally paid for both. We still print the forms for parents to fill out, however we have typed the questions in to our templates for other issues so would probably work to place it into the template.

I bill out ASQ's way more than MCHAT's. This may be what they're referring to.
