Wiki Derm question

My question is if my dermatologist sees a patient for a procedure and also evaluates a cyst and documents monitor and return for any changes but this is benign and no treatment needed. Can this be billed as an E/M code even though no treatment initiated?

If the service is seperately identified from the procedure (seperate diagnosis) you can bill an e&m with the procdure. Just indicate a 25 modifier on your e&m.
