Help! What is the correct way to code the Depo medrol. Dr. states gave 100mg, the 3 hcpcs codes are for 20mg, 40mg, and 80mg. Do I use J1020 20mg x 5 units or J1040 80mg and J1020 20mg. Thanks any input would be helpful>

A recent HCPCS coding clinic I attended indicated that you would bill the dosage as 1 unit of J1040 (80mg) and 1 unit of J1020 (20mg).
