We had a pt (insufficient prenatal care) who was 21 weeks pregnant with twins and delivered. Twin A- delivery of a nonviable twin at 21 weeks and twin B- Dr. describes the delivery as a dilation and evacuation. The question is at what stage can you bill a delivery for twin A? We cannot find a specific gestation age.. does the baby have to be over 28 weeks or just 20 or does it matter? Any insight would help!! Thank you!

According to ACOG, you cannot bill for delivery if gestation is less than 20 weeks. Baby A (21 weeks) should be global delivery code and a D&C procedure, as you mentioned.
