One of our Family Physicians had an OB patient who was at the hospital for delivery. Our Family Physician provided ALL of the prenatal care and delivery support up until he had to call in an OBGYN to help facilitate the delivery with the use of forceps. Can our physician bill out for anything for all the time that was spent with the patient at the hospital prior to delivery? Or, is he just out of luck.

Any positive solutions to this problem would be wonderful!!

Upon my own further investigation, I am wondering if my Physician could bill out for Prolonged (face to face) services 99354-99358 for his time even though it was not a c-section.

Any thoughts?
