most of my patients do not have commercial insurance so I generally don't bill out global deliveries. However, a patient came in complete who does have a commercial payer. She delivered in the wheelchair with no attending only a resident. I'm trying to figure out if any of the days for the hospital stay are billable ( i don't think so). Also what codes should I use for the 7 visits the patient was seen in the office (59426)

I was under the impression if the physician delivered the placenta, he could bill global for commercial insurance carriers. Does anyone know if this is true?

you can look at cpt codes:
59414 delivery of placenta.
and 59426 for 7 antepartum visits.
and 59430 for pp care only depending on the documentation you should be able to bill for those.
