Please give input, physician is coding 11044 . By op report I am leaning towards 11042.
Procedure: Excisonal debridement of skin aand sugQ tissue, left elbow bursal wound w/ intemendiate closure.
Description of proc:
Patient was taken to the OR and given IV in the left hand. The left upper extemity was prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. I removed the previous sutures and then used a #15 blade to sharply excise the edges to have fresh edges about 1mm off both sides. I irrigated this. I then attempted to close this with a 3-0 vicryl interrupted sutures, but the skin was too thin, so I used multiple simple 3-0 nylon sutures to do this. I then dressed this with Polysporin, Xerofoam, 4x4's and ABD and placed him in a cast and a 4" posterior and elbow anterior elbow splint in nearly full extension.
I don't see wher he went to the bone, but perhaps Im not interpreting this correct.
