One of my providers performed a surveillance cystoscopy and a digital rectal exam for hx bladder ca and hx prostate ca . He wants to bill for an EAU (45990) as well as the cystoscopy but I disagree, no scopes were used.
The cysto is clearly documented but for his "eau" he documents:
"A finger was placed in the rectum. He was noted to have a soft prostate. There was no evidence of any rectal masses."
To me this does not meet the definition of EAU...my question...should it bundle into the cystoscopy, add -22 to cystoscopy or add -52 to EAU?? Or something else all together?
Thanks in advance...
