Wiki Cyst Removal Help

Hi everyone,
I need some assistance on this one. My doc performed a cyst removal on a patients shoulder, but not a bone cyst. He describes it as a deep dissection with tenotomy sissors. It was removed and cauterized. What series of codes do you think I should use?

Without reading the documentation, this sounds like a benign lesion excision. 11400-11406. It was not deep enough to require sutures.

thanks for the reply, here is what he stated in his documentation...


"A small incision overlying the cyst was carried sharply through the skin. Deeper dissection procedded with tenotomy scissors. The firm nodule appeared to be a typical cyst, however dissection resulted in significant bleeding, indicating it might be a vascular malformation. Part of the cyst was removed and the bleeding cauterized. there was not enough material to send for pathology. Copious irrigation was performed. Skin was closed with Nylon sutures. Sterile dressing was applied, and patient was awakened and ransferred to recovery in stable condition with out complications. "
