We are going to EMR, so we will have all our documentation. We our general surgeons, so we do 80 surgeries on patients referred to us. But if a patient is being seen for a skin lesion, seb. cyst or even lipoma. Our doctors discuss surgical options with the patients, may prescribe antibiotics or may do nothing. because all criteria will be met, the drs will want a 99204 for new patients. But does the MDM really qualify? yes by bullet points (1995) guidelines it will, but is the MDM really as tough as say gallbladder surgery. Thoughts please,

I have the same issue here and was hoping someone might chime in on this question. Our eldest doc in the practice and I agree that just because the "younger" guy's do all the dictation for the higher level does not mean that level of service was really justified. Anybody else have some input on this one?
