MD takes pt to or for carpal tunnel release and states in op-note custom fabricated splint applied can we bill for this with a modifier 58? He insist this should be a payable service! And the the same to 25609

Please any help with this!

Per AAOS CodeX GSD Package, any application of dressing, orthosis, etc. is included in the surgery payment. He can bill for the DME item itself, but that is all the he can bill for in regards to the custom DME.
Same applies for 25609.
