Patient underwent ct guided biopsy hours earlier and now presents w/ 50% pneumothorax.
My doc did the following; CT guided chest tube placement, ct guided cath drain
In the supine position, the appropriate entrance point was determined, area marked cleaned and draped and infiltrated w/ 1% lidocaine. 18 gauge chiba needle was advanced into the pleural space, air was aspirated, a superstiff was advanced, the needle was exchanged for fascial dilators. A 10 french all purpose chest tube was advanced in the pleural space with the use of a 3-way stopcock, the pneumothorax was aspirated, catheter was sutured to the body wall and connected to a heimlich valve.
32551? I feel like I am missing something here, any help is greatly appreciated!
