I did some digging and wasnt having much luck.. while Im waiting for the physician to come out of the dictation room - has anyone ever encountered this and know of a diag code that best describes for Crohn's Abscess?
Two months ago my son had to be rushed to the ER for a renal abscess due to his Crohn's but I'm not sure how they coded it. But like I said the doctor kept saying renal abscess in our discussions.
I also have Crohn's disease and when I had an abscess it was, unfortunately, in the rectal area, and my doc always used the term fistula for it, so I would code an anal fistula:
566 & 5559 for the Crohns is what I would probably use is that is where the abscess is located.
