Hi, i have a provider who is on call for the icu. He does critical care for more than one patient sometimes in the same night. Can we bill multiple patients on the same day for critical care? I know guidelines indicate doctor must give sole attention to the patient, but not sure how to bill more than one patient in the same day. Thanks.

Your provider should document the actual from and to time spent face to face caring for each individual patients. He can go from one to the next but he must document actual times and total time (minutes) spent each day.
