Did anyone notice any changes in Orthopedic surgery in the 2010 CPT book worth mentioning? Just in case I missed something.

Changes To Tumor Codes

Yes, to me the biggest change is the additions of soft tissue tumor codes. Many codes have been resequenced, so they won't neccesarily be in order and they are grouped by location. The tumor codes are now listed by the size of the tumor at the time of excision, not by what is listed in the pathology report. The doc needs to also mention this in their documentation to substantiate their reported code. Also, previously autografts or prosthetic replacements were included in the resection codes but in the new codes they are not and it has now become a seperately billable charge.
