Our coding book supplier has recommended that we order CPT Plus!, published by PMIC, in place of the CPT Professional Edition that we normally order. The main advantage would be price. My main concern is that the book is not published by the AMA, and therefore is not "official." Any thoughts on that? Experiences with using CPT Plus?

Thanks for your help!

My initial thought would be: remember you would not be able to use CPT Plus! and sit for any of the AAPC exams as they all require CPT Standard or Professional editions only. I have no experience with the CPT Plus book but I too would be cautious of new versions by publishers other than the AMA.

Thanks for your reply! I am wary of a non-AMA book. That is what brought me here to with this question :) I'm just not sure how much it really matters in the real world.

To clarify, this would not be a book for my personal use. We are a medical billing company and would be ordering for our office as well as some of our clients.
