Would the CPT code for the procedure Sigmoidoscopy and fulguration be 45346 ?
This is all doctor stated for the procedure:
The patient was placed in left lateral decubitus position and given IV sedation. Colonoscope was introduced into the rectum, purulent looking fluid was removed. Using the argon beam coagulator, the granulation tissue was then cauterized. The patient tolerated the procedure well, no complications.
For CPT 45346 would the ablation be the fulguration, and the lesion be the granulation tissue?
TIA
