Re Posting.. Need help with CPT for injection w/US
Patient CC:Right shoulder pain persists.
Upon Dr.'s exam and MDM a injection was given with ultrasound guided into a calcific area in a muscle...not sure how to code this.
Could is be 20550 & 76942 OR 20611 OR maybe there is another CPT I can use?

If the injection was actually given in the "muscle" you report CPT 20550 & 76942 but if the injection was given intraarticularly into the joint, you would report CPT 20611.
