Regarding the new coding structure for psychiatrists and nurse practitioners for 2013, we are to bill an E/M code along with a therapy code when providing med mgmt services and therapy to a patient. Are the E/M codes for established patients (Ex. 99213) only used when med mgmt is involved? Can it be used if a provider is evaluating a patient's progress?
