Can you bill for more than one 99454 at the same time? We have a patient that has a blood pressure monitor and diabetic monitor. If you can bill this would you use 2 units and the two different diagnosis?
CPT code 99454: “Remote monitoring of physiologic parameter(s) (eg, weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, respiratory flow rate), initial; device(s) supply with daily recording(s) or programmed alert(s) transmission, each 30 days.”
The plural nouns tell you it's for one or more, so you bill once. CPT states, "99453-99454 is reported for each episode of care", which would also mean one unit.
