I am very confused.
The new ASA codes for colonoscopies are:
00811 - Anesthesia for lower intestinal endoscopic procedures, endoscope introduced distal to duodenum: not otherwise specified
00812- Screening Colonoscopy
00813 Anesthesia for combined colonoscopy and EGD
I have a patient that had a colonoscopy for rectal bleeding - no screening, no therapeutic measures taken, and there are no op notes or further information. Patient has commercial insurance.
These are the codes I chose
45378 - ASA 00811 dx K62.5
The 2018 crosswalk for CPT 45378 only crosses to 00812 and 00813.
So which ASA do I use? Is this an error in the crosswalk?
