Dr states:
debridement and irrigation of the 4cm open wound involving skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle and bone including partial excision of the distal phalax
***This not due to infection but traumatic injury. Can I use 26236? One book I have states this is for infection however this book is 2007. The 2009 book does reference osteomyelitis.
Would this be considered an amputation? The ER Dr states amputation but it's a finger tip amputation. The Ortho Dr states it's an open fracture. I am more in favor of using 11012 because he documented open fracture.
