I have been coding for around 10 years and certified as a CPC for several years. I have had a full-time in-house physician coding job for the past nine years and I do contract work p/t from home doing ER coding for the past six months. I see when cruising job listing that inpatient coders are much better paid than I currently am. What is the next step for me if I want to move into inpatient coding? RHIT, CCS, CPC-H? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Where I am at, RHIA/RHIT, or CCS are required for inpatient coding. CPC-H does not meet the current requirements.
