I am in trouble. If a patient has insurance, and comes in for the COVID test, which is free to the patient, do we have to bill the insurance? We have patients that chose to pay the self-pay price for the testing, and NOT use their insurance. Is this going to be a problem down the road, with a government audit? Since the test is supposed to be free? I know it may not make sense, but basically, will clinics get in trouble for charging a patient for a COVID test? Anyone know?
