I am filling in for someone at work and was wondering if you have C3-C7 and you are counting interspaces how many would you count. Also what if you were counting segments for C3-C7 how many would you get? I have heard conflicting answers so I am asking the experts. Any help is appreciated.
 
If you are counting interspaces it would be 4 (C3-C4, C4-C5, C5-C6, C6-C7). If you write it out like this, you can count the dashes which represent the "interspace" between the segments. A segment is a single vertebral bone, so you would have 5 segments from C3-C7 (C3, C4, C5, C6, C7).
