I have two concerns regarding DOS and double dipping.
We have a dermatologist who's also a dermpatopathologist in the office. She charges for the visit and biopsy, and then also bill for the interpretation of the slide.
I see this as double dipping, but she's so sure that this is correct.
Also, she uses the collection date for both visit and reading claim for the same date of service.
I think if she wants to bill for the interpretation, she should use report date, not the biopsy (collection) date.
If anyone has correct information to guide me and provide correct information to the provider.
