Hi All,
I currently work for a large group of Hematologist/Oncologist and am looking for the correct coding for MDS/CMML or as of 2008 MDS/MPN... when the classification for MDS/CMML changed...
So my question is that since the CMML(MPN) are a subclassification of MDS, when there is a transformation in the blood cells, do you code both separately... ie. 238.75 MDS with 238.79 per the current classification or do you drop the 238.75 and code only the 238.79? Then when would you code CMML ? When it is diagnosed by its self as unrelated to MDS...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
